Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor is seeking a full-time Social Worker to serve as the Student Support Coordinator for our K-12 program. You will lead counseling, supervise Social Work interns, and head the Student Support team to address diverse student needs within a Waldorf framework.

You will collaborate with families and teachers to implement accommodations and promote social‑emotional development, equity, and belonging across all grades.

Qualifications

• Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work.
• Passion for education and working with children.
• Patient, compassionate, and caring approach to student needs.
• Creative and imaginative approach to meeting children at their developmental stage.
• Supports the whole-class while assisting the lead teacher and individual students.
• Clear written and verbal communication with teachers, families and committees.
• Supports children’s social-emotional learning and development.
• Curious and open to Waldorf education.
• Builds collaborative partnerships with colleagues and families.

Responsibilities

• Support the High School through counseling and overseeing Social Work interns.
• Lead the Student Support team for Early Childhood through Grades 1-8.
• Collaborate with Student Support team, families, and teachers to identify and address student support needs.
• Oversee the creation and maintenance of accommodation plans for students.
• Provide resources and professional development support to teachers and families regarding neurodiversity, social and mental health.
