Job summary

Qalam Seminary seeks a Head of Student Services to lead the student experience outside the classroom, reporting to the Associate Director. This role oversees the student services team, coordinates wellbeing resources, and serves as a trusted contact for students throughout their time at the seminary.

You’ll work closely with academic and enrollment teams to ensure cohesive support, maintain records, and develop policies, while guiding a mission-driven, faith-based campus community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred, ideally in student affairs, counseling, education, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in student services, student affairs, or a related leadership role, ideally within a seminary, madrasa, or higher education setting.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team and overseeing student-facing programs.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive student matters with care and discretion.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Sound judgment in assessing when issues require escalation.
• Comfort working within a faith-based or mission-driven institutional environment.

• Collaborate with academic affairs and enrollment teams to ensure consistent communication and support across the student lifecycle.
• Maintain accurate records of student services activity, cases, and outcomes.
• Escalate significant student concerns or disciplinary matters to the Associate Director as needed.
• Prepare regular reports on student services performance and operations for the Associate Director.
