The Opportunity

A high-growth, private equity-backed renewable energy platform is seeking a Head of Structured Finance to lead the execution of all project-level financing across its distributed generation portfolio.

This individual will serve as a strategic partner to the executive team, owning tax equity, project debt, and long-term capital strategy while helping scale the company’s financial infrastructure in preparation for continued growth.

This is a senior leadership role with high visibility, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and brings deep experience in clean energy capital markets – especially DG solar.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead execution of tax equity and debt financings across a growing DG solar + storage portfolio.
• Own investor relationships and capital sourcing efforts, including tax equity investors, commercial lenders, and institutional capital providers.
• Manage underwriting, diligence, and deal structuring for all project and portfolio-level financing efforts.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with development, EPC, asset management, and legal teams to align financing strategy with execution timelines.
• Partner with the executive team on long-term capital planning, M&A strategy, and scaling financial systems and tools.
• Build and manage internal tools for tracking capital market trends, deal performance, and investor pipelines.
• Provide regular updates to private equity sponsors and board members, supporting high-level strategic decision making.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in renewable energy project finance or structured finance, ideally with DG or C&I solar exposure.
• Proven track record executing tax equity and debt transactions from term sheet through close.
• Strong relationships across capital markets (banks, tax equity investors, funds, etc.).
• Deep understanding of underwriting, financial modeling, and risk allocation across transaction structures.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and interest in building within a lean, fast-moving platform.
• Experience working with private equity sponsors or in a sponsor-backed environment is a plus.
