Job summary

The University of Maryland's Division of Information Technology (DIT) seeks an Assistant Director of Strategic Analytics to lead analytics, assessment, reporting, and data-informed decision support for academic technology and digital services across campus. You will partner with stakeholders to identify high-value questions and translate them into metrics, dashboards, and actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Seven (7) years of professional experience in data analysis, reporting, or database management.
• Two (2) years of experience supervising or managing professional staff.
• Knowledge of tools and technology to support instruction.
• Proficiency with SQL and at least one analytic language (Python or R).
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Excellent oral and written communication; ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic analytics, assessment, reporting, and data-informed decision support for DIT's services.
• Translate high-value questions into metrics, dashboards, and actionable recommendations.
• Develop sustainable reporting, data pipelines, and recurring decision-support products.
• Supervise the Academic Technology Experience team; manage hiring, onboarding, and performance.
• Collaborate with campus stakeholders to align analytics with DIT strategy and service delivery.
