Job summary

Hastings Secondary College Port Macquarie Campus in Regional NSW seeks a Head Teacher Special Education. The role focuses on supporting students with mild/moderate intellectual disability, autism and complex learning needs, and leading collaborative IEP development to support social, emotional, and academic growth.

Applicants must have full NSW teaching approval, strong leadership and excellent communication skills to work with staff, students and families.

Qualifications

Approval to teach students with Mild/Moderate Intellectual Ability, Autism and Complex Learning needs.
Ability to lead collaborative development of Individual Education Plans.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage staff, students and the community.
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare; ability to design inclusive programs.

Responsibilities

Lead 8 supported learning classes and manage supervision and transition programs from 6 to 7 and post-school.
Plan and resource inclusive learning environments age-appropriately for students with disability.
Demonstrate educational leadership to build capacity and manage performance of individuals and teams.
Ensure compliance with College, Department and NESA policies.
