Job summary

SES is seeking a Spacecraft Procurement Lead to manage programs at NGIS and oversee SES Field Office in Sterling, Virginia. You will direct technical and programmatic activities to deliver satellites on time, meeting quality and contractual requirements.

Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Legal and Sales to optimize procurement outcomes, lead a team of experts, negotiate contracts, and ensure reliable performance across satellites, launch, and related services.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Space Engineering or related field with strong leadership experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of satellite design, assembly, integration & test, cost and schedule trades.
• Track record in leading, coaching and inspiring teams.
• Applied knowledge in programme management of complex projects with external parties.
• Good interpersonal, communication, influencing and persuasion skills at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Program Lead with stakeholder and people management responsibilities, plus budget and milestone accountability.
• Ensure SES Spacecraft Procurement activities meet quality, cost and schedule goals.
• Lead and coach the Field Office Team in Sterling, VA.
• Negotiate contract change notices with minimal delay to satellite delivery.
• Review and approve milestone payments, RFIs and RFWs.
• Ensure satellites are built and tested to high reliability and performance requirements.
• Apply lessons learned and corrective actions from previous SES programs.
• Develop long-term partnerships with Northrop Grumman and major suppliers to accelerate opportunities.
• Attract and develop engineers toward principal engineer and future program manager roles.
