Job summary

Community Charter School of Cambridge is seeking a Head of School for 2027-28 to lead the school as chief executive, advancing its mission, vision, and values while guiding strategy, academics, culture, and operations.

The HoS will partner with the Board, manage external relations and fundraising, ensure charter compliance, and oversee financial health and risk management in a unionized charter context. Salary ranges from $150,000 to $200,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in a school, charter organization, district, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
• Experience leading enrollment strategy or sustainable growth initiatives.
• Experience with fundraising, donor cultivation, or public-private partnerships.
• Experience leading strategic planning and translating strategy into execution.
• Experience navigating Boards, public agencies, families, and employee organizations.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission, vision, and values into priorities, goals, and actionable strategies to grow enrollment.
• Set academic priorities, monitor progress, and ensure student success across the organization.
• Cultivate a strong, mission-aligned culture with accountability and inclusive leadership.
• Represent CCSC with external partners, donors, DESE officials, and the public; lead fundraising strategy.
• Lead CCSC through charter renewal cycles and ensure compliance with laws and charter conditions.
• Provide leadership for financial health, risk management, and safe, efficient facilities and operations.
• Work with the Board as an ex officio member to inform fiduciary, strategic, and governance decisions.
