Job summary

Roudebush VAMC, overseeing industrial hygiene, environmental protection, fire protection, and green environment systems. The role requires extensive experience in managing safety programs, regulatory compliance with OSHA/NFPA/VA policies, and the ability to provide technical guidance to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Requires knowledge of safety and occupational health standards (OSHA, NFPA, VA policies).
• Experience managing safety or occupational health program elements.
• GS-13 time-in-grade requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement the overall Safety Program at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center including Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Protection, Fire Protection, and Green Environment Management Systems (GEMS).
• Ensure Safety Program is comprehensive and meets regulatory requirements.
• Provides guidance on safety and health issues to executive leadership on all aspects of the safety program.
• Investigate accidents and oversee incidents tracking and response activities.
• Coordinate the Safety Program with Service Chiefs, CDSOs, Employee Health Physician, and other stakeholders.
