This role is responsible for leading and developing the Risk Management strategy for Chamberlain Group and the Parent Company. The function protects the assets of the organization using a methodical approach of identification, implementation, management, and control of known and unknown risks. This includes negotiating insurance placement and coverage terms and conditions, risk transfer, contract reviews, claims management oversight, and loss control activities. This position cultivates and manages relationships with third-party service providers including brokers, insurers, and consultants. It regularly interfaces with department personnel at all levels to stay current on business activities and strategic plans, ensuring the insurance structure appropriately protects the business exposures.

Responsibilities
  1. Identify loss exposures, recommend solutions, direct the structure of insurance programs, and implement approved strategies.
  2. Manage relationships with insurance carriers and brokers, evaluating market conditions during renewal cycles.
  3. Research insurance program structures based on risk profile, risk appetite, and market availability; negotiate favorable terms at renewal.
  4. Prepare documentation, meet with auditors, and review casualty program audits annually.
  5. Report regularly to senior executives and the Audit Committee on insurance structure, policy terms, limits, deductibles, loss payments, reserves, and overall risk costs.
  6. Manage the end-to-end claim process for all insurance policies and relationships with carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, and legal counsel.
  7. Implement and oversee the Business Continuity Plan, including administration and system reviews.
  8. Develop and maintain the insurance budget across all coverage lines.
  9. Perform risk due diligence and integration for acquisitions and investments.
  10. Stay informed on emerging risks and market responses, proposing options to management and improving safety outcomes.
  11. Respond to personnel requests for insurance certificates and auto ID cards, providing resources as needed.
  12. Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed and maintain confidentiality to protect the company's reputation.
  13. Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, networking, and participation in societies.
  14. Contribute to team efforts and participate in projects.
  15. Lead and motivate a high-performance team, managing performance and development processes.
  16. Communicate transparently and foster a workplace culture aligned with the company's mission, vision, and values.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree; ARM required
  • 10-15 years of progressive experience in insurance or risk management
  • Ability to build relationships with underwriters, brokers, and service providers; strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 15%, both domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Fusion software

The pay range for this position is $123,600 - $199,275. The actual base pay may vary based on factors such as location, education, training, and experience. Benefits include a comprehensive package, 401k contributions, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.
