Job summary

Netspend seeks a Risk Data Analytics Manager in Austin to lead a team of Risk Analysts and contribute hands-on to core analytics projects. You will build robust dashboards and generate insights that reduce losses and improve customer value.

You will define analytics roadmaps, set reporting standards, and translate complex findings into clear recommendations for executive leadership and cross-functional partners. Strong SQL and fintech experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient in SQL for data analysis within a business context.
• Must have experience managing direct reports.
• Hands-on leader with coaching and developing junior analysts in SQL querying and data analysis techniques.
• Experience building data visualizations and dashboards (Qlik, Tableau, Looker, Power BI).
• Strong analytical skills to work with large time-series datasets and identify patterns.
• BS or advanced degree in STEM or related field preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in data analysis or related roles, preferably Fintech or Payments.
• Familiarity with card payments or banking/finance data is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Team player who collaborates to elevate team impact and culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Risk Analysts, dedicating ~20% IC work.
• Define and oversee the Risk Analytics roadmap aligned with department goals.
• Set standards for metrics, data visuals, reporting, and automation across risk.
• Conduct performance reviews and support professional development.
• Serve as primary contact for stakeholders on Risk Analytics deliverables and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
• Lead strategic analysis of transactions and customer data to identify fraud and credit risk trends.
• Collaborate with Risk Data Science, Risk, and Ops teams.
• Build and optimize queries and identify best data sources for insights.
• Assist in data governance and data products for Risk Data Science.
• Handle strategic ad-hoc requests and independent research to mitigate risks.
