Job summary

Genentech is seeking a senior leader in Business Strategy & Operations to define and drive strategic direction for resource and financial governance. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team across geographies, partnering with Finance, HR, and Portfolio to deliver accurate headcount, budgeting, and investment decisions.

You will shape enterprise metrics, oversee multi-year planning, and ensure data quality and traceability in planning processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 15+ years in business operations, planning, or governance.
• Leadership experience with senior professionals across locations.
• Proven ability in resource planning and analytics in life sciences or healthcare.
• Experience with enterprise planning/reporting tools and financial modeling.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the team overseeing resourcing and financial tracking to ensure visibility across functions and geographies.
• Drive end-to-end planning governance across PDD with Finance, HR, and Portfolio partners.
• Lead cross-functional governance to maintain a single source of truth for financial and resourcing performance.
• Engage with Head of BSO and Head of PDD to ensure data-driven insights for decisions.
• Develop and execute departmental plans aligned with business priorities.
• Shape enterprise metrics frameworks (OKRs, KPIs) for BSO and PDD.
• Lead multi-year planning and quarterly forecasts aligned to portfolio priorities.
• Oversee cross-functional operating rhythms for program timelines and investments.
• Set data governance and audit controls in line with Roche policies.
• Provide analytics to senior leadership for workforce planning and optimization.
• Identify innovations in analytics tooling and planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Tableau).
• Develop a multi-layered leadership team across geographies.
