Job summary

LifeStance Health Inc. is seeking a Head of Research to lead enterprise research, outcomes, and publication strategy.

You will build scalable infrastructure, translate real-world data into evidence, and partner across Clinical Excellence, Quality, and Data Analytics to improve patient care. You will supervise research staff and coordinate with external collaborators, shaping publication timelines and governance.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or equivalent in psychology, psychiatry, behavioral health, public health, health services research, statistics, data science, epidemiology, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive clinical/behavioral health research experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience managing research teams and programs.
• Experience designing, analyzing, and disseminating clinical or healthcare outcomes research.
• Experience developing manuscripts, conference submissions, and external publications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead the enterprise research strategy, annual priorities, and publication roadmap.
• Oversee analyses of clinical, operational, and measurement-based care data to produce actionable insights.
• Establish publication standards and oversee development of manuscripts and conference abstracts.
• Build scalable research operations including study design support, data request workflows, and IRB coordination.
• Partner across Clinical Excellence, Quality, Legal/Compliance, Privacy, Data Insights, Informatics, and Operations to ensure strategic alignment.
• Develop and manage external collaborations with academic institutions, health systems, and vendors.
• Translate research insights into clinical quality improvement priorities and recommendations.
• Lead and develop research staff and consultants, maintaining accountability for high-quality deliverables.
