Job summary

CREW Carbon seeks a leader to guide technical solutions for a category-defining wastewater treatment technology. Based in Brooklyn, the Head of Technical Solutions will mentor teams, engage utilities and partners, and shape product deployment strategy.

You'll collaborate with Advisory and CEO to set scientific priorities, drive research, and ensure hardware systems are designed, procured, and integrated with utility partners while maintaining high-impact results.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Civil Engineering required.
10+ years of wastewater process engineering experience.
Strong understanding of wastewater treatment processes, including nutrient removal, solids handling, and pH/alkalinity control.
Experience developing and reviewing PFDs, P&IDs, site layouts, mass balance calculations, and process unit design.
Exceptional technical writing skills for utility executives and engineers.
Familiarity with BioWin, SUMO, GPS-X, ASM libraries, or equivalent.
Familiarity with analytical methods in wastewater chemistry and ability to interpret data; experience with Python/R/Matlab.
Ability to travel 20-50% to project sites.
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Serve as CREW’s primary technical subject matter expert in utility-facing engagements.
Lead technical scoping conversations with utility engineering and operations teams, translating CREW’s biological treatment technology into their context.
Lead technical support for RFP/RFQ responses, developing process framing and technical positioning.
Conduct and oversee preliminary site assessments and technical fit evaluations for deployment sites.
Mentor future team members and contribute to hiring, onboarding, and organizational development.
Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with utilities, municipal water authorities, engineering firms, and co-deployment partners.
Work with Commercial Team to own senior-level relationships at target accounts.
Contribute to external technical positioning via white papers and presentations.
Contribute process and mechanical engineering judgment across design reviews and deployments.
