Job summary

Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company seeks a Director of Production to lead the technical execution of all productions in Washington, D.C. This senior role reports to the Artistic and Managing Directors and supervises the Production Department, aligning resources to realize each project at the highest level.

Qualifications

• Broad background in technical theater and at least 5 years of staff management.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and coordinate complex productions.
• Knowledge of budget management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Familiarity with union contracts (USA, AEA, SDC) is a plus.
• Experience with safety and inclusivity practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; CAD knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee execution of all production requirements and budgets.
• Coordinate cross-department communication among directors, designers, and staff.
• Lead staff development and ensure safe, respectful working environment.
• Establish and manage production schedules and crew contracts.
• Develop long-range budgets and staffing plans.
• Ensure compliance with union contracts and labor relations.
