LoanBud, a NYC fintech, seeks a Head of Product & Engineering to lead technology and shape the platform's future. This hands-on leadership role combines engineering leadership with deep product thinking, building and scaling systems for borrowers, partners, and internal teams.

You will define strategy, lead an ambitious tech organization, and partner with Product and Sales to deliver a superior customer experience while driving growth. NYC base with equity potential.

Qualifications

• 8–15+ years of experience in software engineering and technology leadership.
• Proven experience building and scaling technology platforms.
• Experience leading engineering teams in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Strong understanding of modern architecture, cloud infrastructure, and APIs.
• Experience partnering closely with product and business teams.
• Ability to operate both strategically and hands‑on.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the company’s technology strategy and roadmap.
• Align technology initiatives with business goals and product vision.
• Make architectural decisions that support scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Partner closely with leadership to shape product strategy and user experience.
• Ensure all technology decisions prioritize ease of use, speed, and customer experience.
• Translate business needs into high-quality product execution.
• Build, lead, and scale a high-performing engineering team.
• Establish strong development processes, standards, and culture.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain top technical talent.
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle from concept to release.
• Ensure high-quality code, testing, and deployment practices.
• Maintain uptime, performance, and system resilience.
• Work closely with Product, Operations, Credit, and Sales teams.
• Translate business workflows into efficient technical solutions.
• Identify opportunities to leverage new technologies, including AI and automation.
• Continuously improve development workflows and system performance.
• Drive a culture of innovation and experimentation.
