Job summary

Real Chemistry is seeking a Director of Product Design to set vision and elevate the quality of digital experiences across websites, platforms, and services for healthcare clients. You will guide teams, influence senior stakeholders, and drive measurable outcomes while ensuring accessibility and scalable design systems.

The role combines strategy, client leadership, and people development, with hands-on guidance and judgment to balance business goals with user needs in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in product design or related field, incl. 3+ years in management.
• Portfolio showing leadership across multi-channel digital products.
• Experience leading multiple workstreams in complex environments.
• Deep fluency in human-centered design and design systems.
• Strong knowledge of Figma; familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility.
• Ability to partner with engineering, product, research, content, analytics, strategy, creative, and accounts.
• Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on guidance.
• Comfort operating in ambiguity and making trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Set and communicate design vision and strategy across portfolios of complex client engagements.
• Oversee design excellence, delivery, and scalable design systems with engineering partners.
• Lead client and cross-functional leadership, aligning on scope, staffing, and timelines.
• Develop and coach product designers, fostering critique, accountability, and growth.
• Partner with Experience Strategy, UX, PM, Creative, Technology, Data, and Strategy leaders.
• Evaluate decisions using qualitative/quantitative data and business outcomes.
