Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Head of Product Creative to lead a multidisciplinary team within the Consumer & Business Design organization. You will own the creative continuity across product surfaces, partnering with Product Design, Engineering, and Marketing to ship work that delights millions of customers.

You will guide the visual identity of the consumer product, drive impactful launch campaigns, and mentor designers in a remote-first environment while collaborating with Brand Creative and Product

Qualifications

• 7+ years leading product-focused creative work with shipped, high-impact product experiences.
• Mastery of typography, layout, color theory, and composition in consumer product work.
• Experience presenting creative strategy to senior leadership and aligning stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring senior designers and building scalable design rituals in a remote-first environment.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional creative initiatives from concept to adoption.
• Figma and Adobe Creative Suite fluency with prototyping tools.
• Generative AI used responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow, cost, and quality.

Head of Product Creative

As Head of Product Creative, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team of visual, motion, and illustration designers within the Consumer & Business Design organization. This team ensures that Coinbase's brand storytelling and visual language carry seamlessly from the first marketing touchpoint into the deepest in-app experience. You'll own creative continuity across product surfaces, partnering with Product Design, Engineering, and Marketing to ship work that delights millions of customers.

What you'll do:

• Own the creative direction and visual identity of the Coinbase consumer product, setting the north star for how brand comes to life inside the app experience
• Lead high-impact product launch campaigns from in-app onboarding flows to GTM feature moments, ensuring a unified story from social post to product screen
• Drive emotional connection across core product surfaces by partnering with Product Designers on UI evolutions, motion systems, and illustration
• Shape and evolve the Coinbase design language, including icons, color systems, and UI components, in collaboration with Brand Creative and Product Design
• Build and mentor a team of visual, motion, and illustration designers, raising the quality bar through critique, shared standards, and a clear creative vision
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineers, Product Managers, and Marketers to move quickly without sacrificing craft

Required Skills and Experience:

• 7+ years leading product-focused creative work (visual design, motion, illustration) with a portfolio demonstrating shipped, high-impact product experiences
• Mastery of typography, layout, color theory, and composition evidenced by a body of shipped consumer product work
• Track record of presenting creative strategy to senior leadership and securing alignment across Product, Engineering, and Marketing stakeholders
• Experience managing or mentoring senior designers and building scalable design team rituals (critiques, reviews, shared systems) in a remote-first environment
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional creative initiatives from concept to adoption, working autonomously in ambiguous environments
• Fluency in Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite with proficiency in prototyping tools
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). Total compensation may also include equity and bonus eligibility, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).

Annual base salary range (excluding equity and bonus):: $243,865 USD - $286,900 USD
