Job description

Serverfarm is a leading developer and operator of data centers with over 750+ locations and key customer relationships in 45 countries. We're revolutionizing how data centers operate across North America, Western Europe, and Israel, serving the world's leading technology and hyperscale companies. With Manulife Investment Management's acquisition in 2023 and our award-winning InCommand platform we're positioned for explosive growth as AI adoption and cloud migration drive unprecedented demand for data center capacity.

A career at Serverfarm means being at the forefront of digital infrastructure innovation, where your work directly impacts how the world's data is managed and secured. As we target 4x growth over the next four years, you'll have unprecedented opportunities to take on new challenges, develop cutting-edge skills, and grow your career across our expanding global operations.

Join our team of innovators and help shape the future of sustainable data centers while building a career without boundaries.

The next InCommand is a new solution, built on a new technology stack, designed from the ground up for the way modern data centers, including high-density and AI infrastructure, are operated. It will be delivered as a cloud service and be deployable in customers' own environments, built API-first, and developed with an agent-assisted engineering practice in which coding agents work from specifications under human review. Our own facilities are the first customer, so everything we build is proven in real, live operations before anyone else sees it.

Someone has to decide what that product is: what it does, what it leaves behind, and what comes first, and what the industry will pay for. As Head of Product that is your call, and the engineers and coding agents who build it work from what you write. You start with a rare advantage: a decade of operational knowledge about what the product has to do, and the people who use it every day sitting down the hall. You partner closely with Architecture, Integrations and Developer Platform, and you build the product function from there.

Key Accountabilities
  • Own the product vision, strategy and roadmap for the new InCommand, from the first capabilities we prove on our own facilities to a product the industry adopts.

  • Own the living functional specification repository that engineers and coding agents build from, and the acceptance criteria that define what "done" means for every capability.

  • Decide, capability by capability, what the new product does, what it does differently and what it leaves behind, using real usage data and the judgment of the operators who run data centers every day.

  • Define the AI-first side of the product: insights, recommendations and an assistant that operators can trust, with the provenance and control critical infrastructure demands.

  • Partner with Architecture, bringing operator and customer needs as requirements for the data model and the API, and with Product Marketing so the product is documented in a form the industry can adopt.

  • Shape packaging and pricing for a modular product delivered as a cloud service and in customers' own environments.

  • Work daily with our operations engineers as the voice of the customer, and grow the product function as the product grows.

Required Skills
  • 8+ years in product management, including end-to-end ownership of a multi-tenant B2B SaaS platform or infrastructure product: roadmap, specifications and pricing.

  • Experience building a product from scratch: defining what it is and what it is not, and making hard scoping decisions early with incomplete information.

  • A record of writing precise specifications and acceptance criteria that engineering teams, and now coding agents, can build from without guesswork.

  • Experience with operations-heavy users (operations centers, field or facilities teams, industrial environments) and turning their tacit process into explicit requirements.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven product capabilities (insights, recommendations, assistants) and what makes them trustworthy to users; hands-on use of AI tools in your own work.

  • Packaging and pricing experience for modular enterprise software.

  • Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to make a product case to executives and to engineers alike.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of or experience with DCIM products: the data they manage, how data-center operators use them and how they are bought.

  • Product experience with observability, monitoring or other high-volume telemetry products, and a feel for telemetry economics: cost-to-serve, data value and packaging.

  • Having defined and shipped an AI assistant or AI-driven insight capability: evaluation, trust, provenance, retrieval over operational data.

  • Having worked as the product counterpart of a platform architect on an API-first product, turning customer needs into requirements the architecture team builds against.

  • Experience with specification-driven or AI-assisted development practices, where coding agents are first-class participants in how a product gets built.
