Job summary

Helix Linear Technologies is seeking a Director of Operations to lead day-to-day execution across precision machining, assembly, and finished goods, driving operating discipline as the company scales. You will oversee a 4-5+ person team and partner with the CEO on strategic priorities.

You bring 7+ years in manufacturing operations including machine shop leadership, with aerospace/defense background, and a track record of elevating OTD and delivery reliability in high-mix, low-volume settings.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical background in precision manufacturing.
• 7+ years in manufacturing operations with direct leadership of production, planning, or quality.
• Experience running a machine shop with CNC mills and lathes.
• Aerospace/defense manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or similar quality management systems.
• ERP experience, specifically Epicor.

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day operations across manufacturing, planning, supply chain, and advanced manufacturing; on the floor daily, not just reports.
• Aim for 90%+ On-Time-Delivery by resolving bottlenecks and improving flow.
• Improve throughput, utilization, and operating discipline in a high-mix, low-volume environment.
• Lead root-cause investigations; walk the floor, pull data, talk to the team, and drive structured problem solving.
• Develop direct reports into strong operators and leaders; set clear expectations and accountability.
• Collaborate with HR on workforce planning, onboarding, and training systems.
