Job summary

Nouryon is seeking a Section Manager for Personal Care to lead part of the R&D organization, guiding the development of polymers and surfactants for hair and skin care applications. You will mentor a team, drive strategy, and manage cross-functional projects with marketing, IP, and manufacturing.

The role requires senior chemistry/engineering credentials and extensive leadership experience in Personal Care development, with strong communication and program management skills.

Qualifications

• PhD with 7+ years or Master 10+ years or Bachelor 15+ years in chemistry/chemical engineering.
• Proven people leadership and team development experience.
• Strong project leadership and strategic influence in R&D.
• Background in Personal Care ingredients, test methods, and formulation knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead part of the Personal Care R&D organization and contribute to strategy.
• Define plans and budget for the unit and manage resources.
• Attract, coach, and develop team members; plan succession.
• Drive knowledge management and stay current with industry developments.
• Collaborate with marketing and commercial teams on product priorities.
• Oversee development projects, deliver data-driven reports and analytics.
• Foster external supplier relationships and stay ahead of new technologies.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and platform development support.
• Present technology overviews to customers and lead cross-functional projects.
• Maintain safety and uphold Nouryon values; leadership at site level.
