Zoox is seeking a Senior Manager of Perception Data in Foster City, CA to own the data flywheel that fuels perception models for autonomous driving. You will lead a multidisciplinary team spanning data science, data engineering, and data labeling, shaping what data matters and how it is mined, annotated, and used for training and evaluation.

Qualifications

• Track record of building and leading high performing technical teams.
• Deep technical expertise in computer vision, video, multimodal AI, or related perception problems.
• Experience leading large scale data capabilities that directly influence model training, evaluation, and performance.
• Strong intuition for what makes data valuable, with experience in data discovery, selection, curation, and enrichment at scale.
• Proven execution at scale, with strong technical and commercial judgment across quality, speed, cost, and build versus buy trade offs.
• Ability to move between strategy and technical detail, set direction in ambiguity, and influence senior technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Own the perception data flywheel from real world signals to training, evaluation, and measurement.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams (data science, data engineering, labeling) of 10+ people.
• Automate annotation at scale with auto labeling pipelines.
• Develop intelligent data miners to surface rare and safety-critical scenarios.
• Define log selection, storage, and retrieval for model efficiency and cost.
• Connect data value to model performance and trade-offs across QA, speed, cost, and scale.
• Close the loop by feeding data into training and evaluation and refining collection.
• Partner with ML, metrics, and infrastructure teams to run the flywheel reliably at scale.
