My client is seeking a visionary Head of Perception to lead the development of a production-grade autonomy stack for orbital environments. This is a high-impact leadership role for a technical expert who wants to move beyond lab-based research and deploy sophisticated computer vision and perception software into space.

The Role

As the Head of Perception, you will own the end-to-end architecture for the perception stack. You will drive technical strategy across multi-sensor ingest, world modeling, and relative navigation. Responsibilities include establishing rigorous engineering practices for high‑reliability software, designing for embedded edge hardware, and ensuring a secure, government‑ready delivery workflow. You will lead and mentor a growing team of over 10 engineers, bridging the gap between cutting‑edge research and practical, scalable mission capability.

The Essential Requirements

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on systems architecture.
• Expert knowledge of Computer Vision and Machine Learning within production‑grade systems.
• Proven experience developing software for robotics, autonomous vehicles, or unmanned systems.
• High proficiency in C++ and Python.
• Demonstrated experience leading cross‑functional technical teams.
• Knowledge of GPU-based programming (CUDA) and performance optimization techniques.
