Job description

Hey there

We're Koko, a mental health nonprofit created by a team out of MIT and Airbnb. We’re backed by YCombinator and Fast Forward, and we’ve built services for most large Internet platforms, including TikTok, Pinterest, and Tumblr.

We’re building scalable AI systems that save lives. We provide online mental health support at the moment young people need it most. We reach young people where they are — online — and embed our interventions into the platforms they use every day (e.g., TikTok, Discord). So far, we've provided support to more than 4 million young people, reaching individuals across 199 countries and six continents.

We’re looking for a business development leader with a deep understanding of selling into the tech sector. You will be tasked with getting the attention of platforms that reach young people, understanding their needs when it comes to keeping their young users safe, and closing revenue-generating partnerships to drive wellbeing for users. Your efforts will help save lives and drive revenue to fuel our long term sustainability and impact.

Core Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in business development, B2B sales, or partnerships across social media platforms and other large consumer technology platforms and products
  • Strong track record of building revenue-generating partnerships that drive significant business and user growth
  • Ability to identify and develop untapped partnership verticals, with experience successfully expanding an organization's reach into new sectors or channels
  • Exceptional relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Experience building partnerships with large social network platforms is preferred
  • Passion for mental health and improving the lives of young people
Key Responsibilities
  • Secure and finalize partnership deals that integrate Koko's services across online communities and other channels where youth can be reached
  • Create and define Koko's partnership strategy focusing on social media companies, online communities, and technology platforms that reach young people
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders at major platforms (Discord, TikTok, Meta)
  • Proactively identify and pursue emerging platforms and communities where youth are migrating, positioning Koko at the forefront of new digital spaces
  • Drive revenue-generating partnerships to help achieve our financial sustainability goals
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to strengthen Koko's offering and position with partners
  • Track partnership performance metrics and optimize strategies for maximum impact
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $180,000 - $220,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
