Job description

WISE Digital Partners is hiring a Head of Paid Media to own and grow our paid search and social department. In this role, you will take full ownership of department revenue, client performance, team management, and operations. You will lead account strategy across Google, Microsoft, Meta, and local platforms, while building an AI-first department that uses modern tools to automate repetitive tasks and maximize campaign impact.

This is a senior, client-facing leadership role. You will collaborate directly with business owners, attorneys, CPAs, and trade leaders to translate complex ad performance into clear business outcomes. You will also manage a lean team of U.S. professionals and offshore specialists, setting the standard for execution and budget governance. If you are looking for a fully remote leadership position where you can shape a department, build custom AI workflows, and have a clear path to a Director-level title, this role is built for you.

What You'll Do

As Head of Paid Media, your responsibilities fall into six core areas:

  • Client Strategy and Communication: Lead strategy reviews, quarterly business reviews, and growth conversations with key clients. Join prospect calls alongside our sales team to deliver scoping and strategic recommendations. Translate technical performance into business metrics like cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and net revenue.
  • Department Growth and P&L: Take responsibility for department revenue, margin, and client retention. Develop service packages, identify upsell opportunities across our existing client base, and maintain accurate revenue forecasting for leadership.
  • AI-First Workflow Development: Design how our department operates with AI at the center. Identify opportunities to automate account builds, pacing checks, search term audits, and performance reporting using Claude and proprietary internal tools.
  • Team Leadership and Mentorship: Direct, coach, and support a team of U.S. staff and offshore Paid Media Specialists. Set clear quality standards, review campaign execution, and build operational capacity. Partner closely with SEO, creative, web, and account management teams to ensure aligned strategy.
  • Account Execution and Strategy: Set overarching strategy across the entire account portfolio, including account structures, audience targeting, bidding strategies, and platform allocation. Manage our largest key accounts directly during your initial transition, ensuring high standards across all active campaigns.
  • Budget Governance and Measurement: Enforce strict spend controls across all client accounts to prevent overspending. Standardize conversion tracking, call tracking, and attribution protocols using reliable, verified data.
First 90 Days
  • Lead strategy and account reviews for top key accounts, establishing yourself as the senior paid media authority for our Account Managers.
  • Implement standard spend-control systems across all client accounts to eliminate budget surprises.
  • Complete a comprehensive audit of all active accounts to identify wins, quick fixes, and growth opportunities.
  • Map core department processes and launch your first AI-assisted workflow optimizations.
  • Evaluate team capabilities and create tailored development plans for each team member.
First 12 Months
  • Expand department revenue through strong client retention, account expansions, and new client acquisitions.
  • Establish a mature, AI-driven operating model that allows the department to scale capacity efficiently.
  • Develop offshore specialists to run day-to-day account operations independently against established standards.
  • Unlock a clear path to Director of Paid Media, based on department revenue, margin, and retention targets set during your first 90 days.
Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
  • Experience: 7+ years of hands-on paid media experience, including at least 3 years directly leading a team (agency background strongly preferred).
  • Client Leadership: Proven ability to lead high-level strategy conversations, participate in sales pitches, and translate performance data into plain business language.
  • AI Implementation: Practical experience building and deploying custom AI-assisted workflows (e.g., using Claude, scripts, or custom prompts) to streamline agency work.
  • Team Management: Experience managing and developing remote or offshore team members.
  • Paid Search & Social Expertise: Deep, practical knowledge of Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Local Services Ads), with working knowledge of Microsoft Ads and Meta Ads.
  • Scale & Budget Management: Track record of managing $200,000+ per month in combined ad spend for lead generation accounts, including direct oversight of at least one account spending $50,000+ per month.
  • Budget Governance: Proven history of maintaining strict budget controls using automated alerts, scripts, or manual oversight tools.
  • Technical Tracking: Strong knowledge of conversion setup and verification using GA4, Google Tag Manager, enhanced conversions, and call tracking software.
  • Availability: Ability to work full-time during standard U.S. business hours.
Nice-to-Have Requirements
  • Experience managing campaigns for legal, accounting, financial services, or home services clients.
  • Previous P&L or margin ownership for a department or service line.
  • Familiarity with CRM integrations and offline conversion tracking (e.g., HubSpot, ServiceTitan).
  • Experience with server-side tracking, incrementality testing, or new ad networks.
  • Familiarity with agency operations tools like ClickUp, Slack, and Google Workspace.
  • Base Salary: $85,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Performance Bonus: Annual bonus tied directly to department revenue, margin, and client retention goals.
  • Health Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage starting after 30 days of employment.
  • Paid Time Off: 96 hours of accrued PTO annually, plus 10 paid company holidays.
  • Retirement: Optional 401(k) plan with company matching available after 12 months.
  • Work Environment: 100% remote work environment with a leadership voice in an innovative, AI-focused marketing agency.
