Job description
Overview

CurbWaste is on a mission: to modernize the waste and recycling industry. We're a venture backed company raising $50M+ by top tier investors. We work with over 150+ customers using CurbWaste’s all in one solution to transform their businesses. We have a lot more to do, becoming the system of record to one of the most critical industries in the world and support the hard working people of the waste industry.

Our customers love us almost as much as we love them (with a proud NPS score of 80+!)

We were honored as the SMB Tech Top 50 and continue to push boundaries as the up and coming solution for waste haulers around the US. We're looking for big thinkers and humble warriors.

Core Values
  • Serve our customers, serve our industry
  • Be infinitely curious
  • Resourcefulness over resources
  • Win as a team, learn as a team
  • Do the 1% more
Role Overview

You'll be the architect of our operational infrastructure. This isn't about maintaining the status quo—you'll be building systems, processes, and teams while keeping the trucks running. You'll work directly with our founders and leadership team to identify operational bottlenecks, design solutions, and execute with urgency. This role is perfect for someone who gets energized by chaos and thrives on turning ambiguity into clarity.

About The Ideal Candidate

  • You are on a mission to help customers win.
  • 4-7 years of experience in high-performing environments: management consulting, investment banking, startup operations, or strategic finance
  • Track record of building processes and systems from scratch, not just maintaining them
  • Exceptional project management skills with ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities—you love diving into data to find insights
  • Proven ability to execute with limited resources and ambiguous direction
  • Outstanding communication skills and ability to influence without authority
  • Bias toward action and comfort making decisions with incomplete information

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience at a high-growth startup during a key scaling phase
  • Exposure to multiple operational functions (finance, HR, legal, sales ops)
  • Background in management consulting (MBB or similar) or investment banking
  • Familiarity with startup tools and systems (e.g., Ramp, Carta, Equals, Hubspot)
  • Experience supporting fundraising processes or board-level reporting

You'll Thrive Here If You

  • Get excited about solving messy, undefined problems
  • Are comfortable with constant change and shifting priorities
  • Want ownership and impact over prestige and structure
  • Can switch between strategic thinking and tactical execution seamlessly
  • Are energized by fast-paced, high-growth environments
  • Value getting things done over getting them perfect
  • Want to grow into a VP/COO role as the company scales

Tactical responsibilities will include:

Immediate impact:

  • Audit current operations across finance, HR, legal, and facilities to identify critical gaps
  • Implement quick wins that reduce friction and free up founder/leadership time
  • Own vendor relationships and negotiate better contracts
  • Partner with finance team for budget management
  • Lead quarterly planning and cross-functional project coordination

Near Term Impact:

  • Build and scale our people operations: onboarding, performance management, compensation frameworks
  • Design and implement systems for managing rapid growth (tools, workflows, documentation)
  • Partner with finance team on financial modeling, metrics dashboards, and investor reporting
  • Lead office expansion or remote infrastructure buildout
  • Establish data-driven operational metrics and reporting cadence
  • Begin building your team as complexity grows

Long Term Opportunity:

  • Evolve into VP Operations or COO as the company scales
  • Build and manage operations team across multiple functions
  • Own strategic initiatives like M&A integration, new market expansion, or operational due diligence
  • Serve as strategic partner to CEO on company-wide initiatives

This is not just a job. This is a career, a chance to make a direct impact. Here’s how we help:

  • Competitive salary range: $175k-$195k + meaningful equity
  • Flextime, recognition, and support for autonomous work: Flexible time off with ample learning and development opportunities to continue growing your career.
  • Health benefits: Company-paid medical, dental, and vision
  • 401k
  • Clear path to VP of Operations or COO at scale
  • Shape the companies foundation and culture
  • Work directly with the CEO & leadership team
