The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT, seeks an Associate Director of Monitoring and Evaluation to design and implement an institutional M&E framework spanning education, accessibility, conservation, and visitor engagement. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in relevant field preferred.
• Five years of experience demonstrating progressive growth in skills and management responsibility, with prior experience in managing staff preferred.
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative social science research methods.
• Five years of experience in related experience conducting monitoring and evaluation, such as: data collection and analysis; use of data analysis platforms/software such as R, Python, JMP, SPSS, STATA.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of Aquarium activities and programs, including exhibits, guest experience, education, accessibility, and partnerships.
• Design methods to answer evaluation questions aligned with project and institution goals.
• Develop survey, interview, observation, and focus group instruments for data collection.
• Analyze data, apply statistical methods, and generate data visualizations.
• Prepare written reports for internal and external audiences with actionable recommendations.
