The Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) is hiring a Head of Media to grow public awareness and understanding of effective altruism. Based remotely in the US, you will lead media engagement, manage inquiries, and set proactive media strategy as part of the Marketing and Communications Team.

You’ll work with global partners and internal teams to expand coverage and guide public conversations about EA. Reporting to the Director of Communications, you’ll shape our media program, build journalist

Formación

• Experience leading proactive and reactive media strategies for high-profile organizations or brands.
• Ability to build and leverage strong relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Experience handling crises and guiding communications under pressure.
• Proven ability to hire, mentor, and lead teams, including remote staff and external partners.

Responsabilidades

• Set our media strategy, deliver annual plans, and report against brand goals.
• Shape public discourse around effective altruism and promote positive coverage at events.
• Handle press inquiries and act as spokesperson for CEA.
• Build and manage media networks with journalists, agencies, and spokespeople.
• Advise stakeholders and provide media training to staff and partners.
• Monitor reputational risk and lead crisis response when needed.
• Hire and oversee media staff, contractors, and agencies to grow the function.
