Job description

Head of Marketing & Digital Growth, WATERPIK

Waterpik™ is an iconic oral-health brand with more than 60 years of innovation and professional credibility. Founded in 1962 and headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, WATERPIK pioneered the water-flossing category and today remains the #1 brand of water flossers. In 2017, Church & Dwight acquired WATERPIK for approximately $1 billion, its largest acquisition by dollar value and a significant addition to its growing oral-care portfolio.

Today, WATERPIK is one of Church & Dwight’s seven Power Brands and a priority for continued investment and growth, with access to the capabilities and resources of the broader enterprise. The brand benefits from growing consumer interest in oral health across generations and combines a strong foundation in clinical science and professional recommendation with broad consumer awareness, product innovation, and performance.

WATERPIK is now entering an exciting next chapter. Building from its strong market position, the business is focused on modernizing the brand for a new generation of consumers and strengthening its digital and omnichannel presence. With the backing of Church & Dwight, WATERPIK has an opportunity to build on its strong foundation and shape the next era of growth for the brand.

About the Role

The Head of Marketing & Digital Growth will serve as the senior architect of WATERPIK’S consumer growth agenda and a key member of the WATERPIK leadership team. This leader will own global brand strategy and U.S. marketing execution, with a broad mandate spanning brand strategy, digital growth, portfolio and innovation, consumer insights, professional influence, CRM, and organizational capability.

The core objective is to strengthen and extend WATERPIK’s category leadership by modernizing the brand for younger, digitally oriented consumers while preserving its trusted clinical authority and professional credibility and helping drive broader consumer adoption.

This leader will sharpen consumer segmentation and portfolio architecture, strengthen professional-to-consumer conversion, accelerate digital discovery and conversion across Amazon and retail, and translate consumer insight into innovation, packaging, and compelling product communication.

This is not a traditional brand communications position or a standalone digital role. It is an integrated business leadership position spanning brand, digital growth, consumer experience, portfolio and innovation. The successful candidate will combine classic consumer-brand leadership with deep digital growth fluency and the commercial judgment to operate with a general-manager mindset.

Working closely with Sales, eCommerce, Engineering, R&D, Finance, Supply Chain, international markets, and Church & Dwight enterprise capabilities, this leader will move comfortably between strategy and execution, personally drive critical work, and build a high-performing organization that operates with speed, accountability, collaboration, and financial discipline.

  • Hybrid: This is a hybrid role based in Fort Collins, CO and requires in-person attendance on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with remote work options on Mondays and Fridays.
Role Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Enterprise and Business Leadership
  • Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to shape WATERPIK’s long-range growth strategy, annual priorities, and investment choices.
  • Operate with a general-manager mindset, balancing long-term brand health, revenue growth, market share, profitability, organizational capability, and return on investment.
  • Bring a fact-based point of view on consumers, competition, channels, technology, and emerging market shifts.
  • Translate strategy into clear priorities, resource choices, milestones, and accountability across the organization.
Brand, Segmentation, and Portfolio Architecture
  • Define global brand positioning and consumer strategy, evolving WATERPIK’s clinical authority and professional credibility into a modern, relevant proposition for a new generation of consumers.
  • Use consumer insight and segmentation to guide product, portfolio, pricing, messaging, channel, and investment choices.
  • Lead portfolio and trade-up architecture across WATERPIK’s offerings, ensuring consumers can clearly understand product benefits, differences, and value.
  • Ensure retailer- and channel-specific execution remains aligned with the global brand strategy.
Integrated Demand Creation and Media
  • Lead full-funnel marketing across paid, owned, earned, professional, creator, search, retail media, Amazon, and other commerce touchpoints.
  • Make disciplined investment choices across brand building, demand generation, and demand capture with clear accountability for commercial outcomes and marketing effectiveness.
  • Build strong launch models that connect audiences, creative, content, media, retailer readiness, measurement, and post-launch optimization.
  • Lead agency and strategic partner performance against clearly defined business and commercial outcomes.
Digital Growth, Content, and Consumer Experience
  • Own the consumer journey across digital, Amazon, and retail, strengthening discovery, education, comparison, and conversion across channels.
  • Elevate WATERPIK’s digital shelf and content experience across search, product detail pages, ratings and reviews, retailer brand stores, demonstrations, and emerging AI-enabled discovery.
  • Translate science-backed product benefits into compelling, relevant consumer messaging and experiences.
  • Build creator and community strategies that combine credible education, authentic product experiences, and culturally relevant storytelling.
  • Partner with eCommerce and Sales leaders on joint business priorities while maintaining marketing accountability for consumer demand, content, audiences, and conversion.
CRM, Retention, and Lifetime Value
  • Develop consumer and professional relationship strategies that strengthen conversion, sustained usage, and lifetime value.
  • Identify opportunities across onboarding, habit formation, replenishment, loyalty, and reactivation to deepen consumer engagement.
  • Connect professional and consumer pathways where doing so can strengthen recommendation, education, and purchase conversion.
Insights, Analytics, and Measurement
  • Build a consumer and market learning agenda that uses consumer insights, behavioral data, competitive intelligence, reviews, social listening, and channel data to identify unmet needs and inform decisions.
  • Establish a rigorous measurement framework across brand, media, digital commerce, CRM, and financial outcomes.
  • Advance ROI, incrementality, attribution, and test-and-learn approaches to optimize marketing investment.
  • Build a culture that scales what works, stops what does not, and redirects investment based on evidence.
Innovation and Commercialization
  • Partner closely with R&D, Engineering, Sales, eCommerce, Finance, Supply Chain, and international teams to shape a consumer-led innovation pipeline.
  • Ensure innovation solves meaningful consumer needs and has a clear role within WATERPIK’s brand and portfolio strategy.
  • Translate product features and technical benefits into compelling propositions, positioning, messaging, and launch plans.
  • Increase the speed and quality of learning through agile concept, message, content, and commercialization testing.
Organization and Talent Leadership
  • Lead and develop an integrated marketing organization across brand, digital, insights, professional marketing, innovation, media, content, CRM, and measurement.
  • Assess organizational capabilities and talent needs, develop successors, and build meaningful career paths.
  • Create effective connections between Waterpik and Church & Dwight’s broader digital growth, customer, international finance, technology, and shared-service capabilities.
  • Build a culture of consumer obsession, financial discipline, candor, curiosity, accountability, collaboration, and speed.
Education and Experience
Required Qualifications:
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership in consumer products, consumer health, personal care, beauty, wellness, consumer technology, durable goods, or a digitally led consumer business.
  • A sustained record of building brands and delivering profitable growth across multiple channels, including major retailers and eCommerce.
  • Deep experience integrating brand strategy, media, digital content, creators, CRM, retail media, search, eCommerce conversion, and measurement.
  • Significant leadership of consumer insights, positioning, claims, portfolio strategy, innovation, and major product launches.
  • Strong financial fluency, including investment allocation, P&L trade-offs, incrementality, channel economics, and marketing return.
  • Experience leading senior teams, upgrading capability, managing agencies and partners, and influencing cross-functional leaders without relying on formal authority.
  • Experience operating in a complex, matrixed, global organization and translating a global platform into locally relevant execution.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA preferred.
  • Leadership in a category where product education, demonstration, professional endorsement, reviews, or habit formation materially influence purchase.
  • Experience with Amazon-led or digitally disrupted categories and competition from fast-moving, value-oriented entrants.
  • Knowledge of regulated claims, clinical evidence, healthcare professional marketing, or oral care.
  • Experience with connected devices, replenishment, subscriptions, loyalty, cross-brand regimens, or consumer lifetime value models.
  • Experience accelerating a legacy brand while protecting trust and premium equity.
