Job summary

Charge Robotics is seeking a Head of Manufacturing to own the full arc of product buildout—from standing up our first production facility to building a scalable manufacturing function for field deployments. You will lead the team, partner with engineering and supply chain, and ensure high-quality, repeatable production at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in a manufacturing leadership role.
• Proven track record bringing complex electromechanical systems from prototype to production.
• Familiarity with DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles; experience sourcing suppliers and CM
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced in-person startup environment
• Based in or willing to relocate to SF Bay Area; able to work 4–5 days/week from San Leandro HQ
• Open to ~20% travel including field deployments and production facility

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and grow a world-class manufacturing team in line with company goals and roadmap.
• Own the end-to-end operationalization of the production facility (site readiness, equipment, workflows, safety, staffing).
• Build and maintain a manufacturing engineering org aligned with design to ensure HQ builds, facility production, and field deployments are efficient and manufacturable; own the NPI process.
• Collaborate with supply chain to reduce COGS through DFM feedback, process optimization, and yield improvement.
• Establish manufacturing processes, documentation, and organizational design (BOMs, drawings, part qualification, supplier quality).
• Represent manufacturing to stakeholders and own EHS compliance and safety culture at the facility
