Job summary

VirTra in Chandler, AZ seeks a Director of Operations to lead machining, assembly, QA, test & validation, and production planning. The role drives continuous improvement, capacity planning, and cross-functional collaboration to meet delivery and growth targets.

Responsibilities include establishing KPI-driven performance, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and partnering with Engineering and Supply Chain to optimize processes and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, manufacturing, supply chain, business administration, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
• 5+ years in a senior operations leadership role overseeing multiple manufacturing functions.
• Experience managing machining, assembly, QA, test & validation, and production planning functions.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Epicor experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.
• Develop and monitor KPI-driven performance across functions.
• Drive continuous improvement and Lean/Six Sigma initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering to improve manufacturability and cost efficiency.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, and capacity analysis.
• Manage budgeting and capital expenditure planning.
