Job summary

OpenDor Media seeks a Director of Events to own a growing calendar of live shows and donor events from initial request to final debrief. You will be the front door for event requests, collaborate with the CMO to set priorities, and run on-site operations when needed.

As a strategic owner, you will manage budgets, negotiate with venues and suppliers, build a trusted network, and measure success by audience reach and funds raised within 90 days. This is a fully remote role with travel.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in live events, experiential marketing, nonprofit galas or live entertainment.
• Experience running donor/high-net-worth events for 150–1,000 guests end to end.
• Proven ability to manage budgets and negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Proven track record of keeping complex multi-stakeholder projects on schedule.
• Based in the US, able to travel 1–2 times per month and work evenings/weekends around events.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools, specifically Claude.
• Fluent in English and comfortable with Google Workspace and Slack.
• Committed to OpenDor Media's mission and values.

Responsibilities

• Own flagship live shows from budgeting to on-site execution.
• Plan and deliver donor events across major cities.
• Maintain the events calendar and prioritize requests with leadership.
• Serve as Marketing's events liaison for logistics and engagements.
• Manage vendor contracts, templates, checklists and networks of venues and AV partners.
• Measure event results and extract learnings for future planning.
