York County Public Library seeks a dynamic library leader to direct the system’s operations, programs, and long-range planning. You will oversee budgeting, policy implementation, facilities, and personnel, and partner with county officials and community groups to advance library services.

Responsibilities include emergency readiness, strategic plan execution, and reporting to the Library Board of Trustees. A MLIS and Virginia Librarian certificate are required, with 6–9 years of progressive

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in library science or information science required.
• Virginia Professional Librarian Certificate required.
• 6–9 years of progressive public library leadership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of library technology and public library operations.
• Proven ability to plan, direct, and evaluate library programs and services.

Responsabilités

• Lead overall administration, operation, planning, and development of the York County Public Library system.
• Provide leadership within the library system, community, and profession; set strategic direction and oversee budgeting.
• Oversee programs, services, facilities, and personnel for effective service delivery.
• Coordinate emergency management responsibilities and on-call responses as needed.
• Develop and execute strategies to promote relationships and public confidence in library services.
• Direct staff supervision and develop staff through training and professional development.
• Collaborate with Library Board, county officials, and community partners.
