Gateway Group Personnel has been engaged by a prominent global organization with its U.S. headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee, to recruit a Head of Legal Compliance. Reporting directly to the CEO, this senior leadership position will serve as the organization's principal legal advisor for commercial transactions while overseeing corporate compliance, regulatory matters, and international trade compliance.

The organization operates in a highly transactional, global environment involving high-value assets, equipment leasing, acquisitions, sales, and distribution. We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded attorney who can negotiate complex agreements, advise executive leadership, strengthen compliance programs, and provide practical legal guidance that supports business growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) or equivalent legal qualification; must be qualified to practice law in the United States.
• Demonstrated experience in corporate law, commercial transactions, and complex contract negotiation.
• Experience advising executive leadership on legal matters, business transactions, contractual risk, and regulatory compliance.
• Background in corporate compliance programs, regulatory risk assessments, internal controls, and policy development.
• Knowledge of International Trade Compliance, including export controls, economic sanctions, restricted-party screening, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements, highly desirable.
• Experience with international business transactions, acquisitions, leasing agreements, or asset-based commercial contracts preferred.
• Transportation, logistics, equipment leasing, aerospace or international distribution industry experience is a plus.
• Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound business judgment, and collaborate with international teams.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10%.
