Job summary

Future Caucus is seeking a Chief Program Officer in Washington, DC, hybrid, starting January 2027. This senior role translates strategy into high-impact programming across lawmakers, manages a team, and represents our programmatic strategy to external audiences.

The CPO works with the President & CEO and senior leaders to align programs with organizational goals and growth plans. The ideal candidate will lead strategic planning, lifecycle engagement of lawmakers, and cross-state programming

Qualifications

• Required 10+ years of relevant experience; at least 4 years of experience managing senior leaders and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proven track record in leading programs and driving organizational impact.
• Strong political savvy and ability to collaborate across partisan lines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach & lead program leaders and direct reports; act as multiplier to unlock potential.
• Develop information sharing streams to enable strategic decision making and cooperation.
• Foster feedback and learning culture across the program team.
• Set performance goals and accountability systems for a results-based leadership culture.
• Shape roles and operating models as Future Caucus grows; ensure teams have what they need.
• Create a motivating, collaborative environment to achieve vision and goals.
• Organize work allocation, training, and performance evaluation for direct reports.
• Support budget development and management across program activities.
