Zoom is seeking a Head of Infrastructure Engineering to lead a key technical team responsible for managing the organization's cloud infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will bring a strong SRE / DevOps mindset, emphasizing automation and the implementation of innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and user experience.
The Infrastructure team plays a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing our organization's cloud infrastructure, identity, endpoint, and collaboration services.
The team's primary goal is to ensure optimal performance, security, and management of all infrastructure applications and clouds by employing modern tools, self-service capabilities, and automation techniques. This approach enables the team to maintain a robust and efficient cloud infrastructure while constantly improving its functionality and reliability.
The team is responsible for architecting, engineering, and supporting various infrastructure applications and cloud services to ensure stability, security, and efficiency.
We leverage an SRE mindset with coding and scripting skills to develop automated workflows, streamline operations, and continuously enhance infrastructure applications and cloud environments.
Overall, the team is responsible for enabling Zoom employees to perform their best work by providing a secure and frictionless experience for all daily operations, ultimately delivering happiness to our customers.

The ideal candidate possesses an SRE / DevOps mindset to further transform the team to become programmatic operationally, while maintaining a solutions-based mindset to address new business needs. This leader will also play a key role in supporting our product teams and the future of AI, with a strong background in infrastructure as code to support Identity (IGA/IAM), Authentication, Directory Services, SaaS application enablement, and Multi-Cloud services. They should also be capable of troubleshooting complex issues and implementing innovative solutions.
The leader must be technically and operationally minded, focusing on end-user experience through automation, and will be a key team member in driving modern, self-service, proactive, and AI-driven solutions.
Responsibilities
The Head of Infrastructure Engineering is a key technical IT leader, reporting to the Head of Infrastructure & Client Experience, and managing a team of infrastructure Apps SREs. The role is remote, overseeing five key functions at Zoom.
Infrastructure as Code - Lead a technical SRE / Infrastructure Application Engineering team with expertise in automation, scripting, data transformation, and APIs. Experience with managing cloud-based infrastructure following CI/CD best practices using Jira and GitLab. Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, SALT Stack. Knowledge of modern scripting languages like PowerShell, Linux/Bash, Python, and Golang.
Identity and Access Management - Understanding of IGA and IAM (Identity, Authentication, and Authorization), as well as directory services like Okta, Radius, MFA, Entra ID, and Certificates.
Endpoint Management - Knowledge of endpoints and Modern Device Management, VDI, macOS, Windows, Mobile, DEX (Digital Employee Experience), Workspace One/Jamf.
Collaboration - Familiarity with modern collaboration tools including Mail, Video Conferencing, Chat, Voice/Call Center Technologies, and Future of Work and AI tools (GWorkspace, 365, Zoom Workspace, Proofpoint).
Cloud Operations - Understanding of cloud infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) across GCP, AWS, Azure, Hyperconverged Hardware, and VMware.
Additionally, the leader should have a service-oriented, proactive approach to solutions, with an understanding of Enterprise Architecture and governance best practices.
Experience in DEX is crucial for partnering closely with support organizations and business leaders.
The leader's timezone should align with our global support organization in India, the Philippines, and China.
Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum: $171,800
Maximum: $375,900
Zoom offers a Total Direct Compensation philosophy, including base salary, bonus, and equity. Starting pay will depend on qualifications and experience, and may vary by location.
