Principle HR in Ireland is seeking a Head of HR to lead transformation in a growing logistics business. You will own the HR function and shape a commercially focused people strategy to support growth.

You will work closely with senior leadership, drive organisation design, leadership development and change initiatives, and oversee HRIS implementation to deliver better reporting and insights.

Qualifications

• Significant HR leadership experience at Head of HR level or senior HR partner.
• Proven track record in HR transformation and strategic people planning.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to align HR with business goals.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders in complex operations.
• Knowledge of Irish employment law and employee relations.
• Experience with HRIS implementations and leadership development.
• Background in logistics or operational industry advantageous.
• Hands-on leader who balances strategy and execution.

Head of HR | Logistics Industry | Strategic HR Transformation

Location: Virginia, Cavan | Hybrid (2-3 days onsite)

An opportunity to lead HR transformation and shape the people strategy of a growing logistics business.

We are partnering with an established and ambitious organisation within the logistics sector to appoint a commercially focused Head of HR into a newly created senior position.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an experienced HR leader who wants to go beyond traditional HR management, influence business strategy and drive meaningful organisational change.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of the HR function, strengthen organisational capability and develop a people strategy that directly supports business growth.

The Role

• HR Strategy & Transformation: Develop and implement a commercially focused people strategy, reviewing existing HR structures, policies, processes and ways of working.
• Organisational Design: Assess organisational structures, workforce capability and succession planning to ensure the business is positioned for future growth.
• Leadership Development: Introduce effective performance management, learning and development, and leadership capability programmes.
• Culture & Change: Drive a more collaborative, accountable and proactive working culture, supporting organisational change and business integration.
• HR Systems: Lead the evaluation and implementation of a new HRIS, improving HR reporting, workforce insights and operational efficiency.
• Talent & Retention: Strengthen workforce planning, employee retention, recruitment processes and reward frameworks.
• Strategic Partnership: Act as a trusted adviser to senior executives, providing commercially sound HR recommendations and constructive challenge.
• Team Leadership: Lead and develop a small HR team, building a proactive and effective HR function.

About You

• Significant HR leadership experience, ideally as a Head of HR, Senior HR Manager or senior HR Business Partner.
• Proven track record in HR transformation, organisational development and strategic people planning.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to align HR initiatives with wider business objectives.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders and delivering change in complex operational environments.
• Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation and employee relations.
• Experience with HRIS implementation, performance management and leadership development.
• Background in logistics, transport, distribution, manufacturing or another operationally focused industry would be highly advantageous.
• A confident, pragmatic and hands-on leader who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution.
