Walter Reed Post Acute and Healthcare Center in Gloucester, VA is seeking a Director of Maintenance to lead all facility maintenance operations, ensuring a safe, reliable, and fully functional environment that supports high-quality resident care.

This full-time role requires coordinating preventive maintenance, supervising staff and contractors, and ensuring compliance with building codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years in a maintenance role.
• Healthcare facility experience required.
• HVAC certification strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• Licensed or certified per state requirements.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance operations to keep facility safe, functional, and well-maintained.
• Manage preventive maintenance programs and repairs.
• Supervise staff, contractors, and vendors for timely work.
• Maintain critical facility systems (boilers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Conduct routine safety and facility inspections and ensure compliance.
