Job summary

The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) invites applications for the Associate Dean of Graduate Studies. The role provides academic and administrative leadership across SAIC’s graduate programs, guiding curriculum development, assessment, enrollment planning, and student success initiatives.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required; terminal degree preferred.
• Minimum five years of progressively responsible academic administration in higher education.
• Teaching experience at graduate or undergraduate level.
• Experience with curriculum development, assessment, enrollment planning, and academic policy administration.
• Knowledge of higher education administration, accreditation, and student learning assessment.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership for graduate curriculum development and approval processes with faculty and partners.
• Oversees graduate academic policies, degree requirements, curricular documentation, and communications.
• Leads enrollment planning and course analysis to support scheduling, resource allocation, and degree completion.
• Uses data and assessment to evaluate programs and improve student outcomes; informs strategic planning.
• Collaborates with Graduate Admissions, Student Affairs, Registrar, International Affairs, and other offices to support graduate initiatives.
