Overview of the Role:

The Head of Global Sourcing is a pivotal role responsible for formulating and executing the global sourcing strategy to ensure a robust and cost-effective supply chain. This position oversees the procurement of goods and services from both domestic and international suppliers, ensuring alignment with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. As a key member of the Supply Chain leadership team, this role collaborates across all business functions to drive business results and enhance sourcing capabilities.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sourcing Development:Design and implement comprehensive global sourcing strategies that align with the company's business objectives and ensure a reliable supply chain.
2. Supplier Relationship Management:Identify, evaluate, and cultivate relationships with key suppliers. Negotiate contracts to secure optimal terms and conditions.
3. Cost Optimization:Monitor and manage sourcing costs to achieve significant cost savings and enhance profitability. Lead cost reduction initiatives and value engineering projects.
4. Quality Assurance:Ensure all sourced products and services meet stringent quality standards and specifications. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve any quality issues promptly.
5. Risk Mitigation:Proactively identify and mitigate risks associated with global sourcing, including geopolitical, economic, and supply chain risks.
6. Regulatory Compliance:Ensure adherence to all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies. Maintain meticulous records and documentation for audit purposes.
7. Leadership & Team Development:Lead and develop a high-performing global sourcing team. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management to team members.
8. Market Intelligence:Conduct thorough market research and analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and emerging opportunities.
9. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with product development, manufacturing, logistics, and other departments to ensure alignment and support for sourcing initiatives.

Primary Objectives

1. Supplier Service Performance:Establish and drive supplier service performance metrics, including safety, supply performance scores, lead time reduction initiatives, and supplier segmentation.
2. Sourcing Spend Management:Achieve sourcing cost savings, manage inflation, and develop a cost savings pipeline through external benchmarking and brand team partnerships.
3. Cash Flow Improvement:Enhance cash flow through optimized supplier payment terms, vendor-managed inventory, and balanced supplier financing.
4. Team Capability Enhancement:Improve sourcing team capabilities and effectiveness through process and tool improvements, standardization, compliance, contract management, and integration into S&OP and financial planning processes.

Successful Candidate Profile:

• Education:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). Sourcing-focused certification is an added advantage.
• Experience:Minimum of 15 years in global sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 5 years in category-buying. Preferred experience in chemical products, equipment, and co-manufacturing.
• Skills:Strong negotiation, contract management, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills. Knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance. Proficiency in multiple languages is a plus.
• Travel:Ability to travel internationally as required.
