We've reached over 30 million installs worldwide entirely through organic growth, without spending a single cent on ads. We're the largest app you've never heard of.

About the Role

We're looking for a Head of Global Communications to help tell this story. This role will lead our communication efforts and supercharge Insight Timer’s growth storytelling. You will drive brand awareness, shape our narrative, and oversee media relations, executive communications, and thought leadership. You’ll partner with our CEO to help drive reconsideration with an audience that already believes they know who Insight Timer is and raise our profile with an audience that doesn’t know us yet, helping millions more access the tools we have created at a time when people need them more than ever.

You’ll own our global communications strategy from end-to-end, from creating compelling copy and executing impactful campaigns enhancing the brand's reputation and visibility across multiple platforms. You’ll shape Insight Timer’s corporate narrative too, and strategically engage media, investors, and key partners to ensure our story resonates globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Global Communications Strategy : Create and own our communication strategy to grow our brand awareness in a way that translates to user installs.
  • Content : Oversee the creation and distribution of various communication materials, including press releases, social media content, and internal communications.
  • Global Agency Model : Find, hire and manage the right agency for Insight Timer with a limited budget and maximum ROI in mind.
  • Narrative : Partner with our CEO to craft and amplify a compelling company narrative across digital, earned, and owned.
  • Press : Proactively drive the newscycle, manage media inquiries, build relationships with journalists, and secure positive media coverage.
  • Reputation : Monitor and address potential reputational risks, ensuring the Insight Timer brand is perceived positively.
  • Social Media : Provide strategic support for organic social media, speaker placements and other brand channels.
  • Data and Analytics : Establish and track KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of global communication campaigns, using insights to enhance messaging, maximise reach, and optimise impact.

About You

  • Extensive experience in corporate communications, public relations, and media relations.
  • At least 10 years experience between a PR agency and in-house at high-growth tech startups.
  • Expert-level storytelling, exceptional writing skills, and a proven ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Experience shaping executive communications and thought leadership.
  • Demonstrated capability in translating full-funnel communications initiatives into tangible business outcomes.
  • Strong experience launching new products, and managing high-stakes communications.
  • Experience in global communications within the consumer space is a plus.
  • We offer competitive salaries and options.
  • The role is fully remote but must be based in San Francisco. You must also be able to travel to Sydney multiple times per year.
  • Extra leave days are available for your well-being and birthday.
  • A generous L&D budget & wellbeing bonus.
  • We host a global company retreat each year.

We dial in from all over the world, and it's important that our team is just as diverse as our community of users, customers and teachers. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, national origin, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, or marital, veteran, or disability status.

Even if you don't think you quite meet all of the skills listed or tick all the boxes, we'd still love to hear from you.
