Job summary

Range, headquartered in McLean, VA, is seeking a Head of FP&A to bridge data and strategy, guiding budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning. You will develop and refine financial models, KPI dashboards, and executive narratives to enable scalable growth.

You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Product, and Engineering to align assumptions, stress-test plans, and provide clear financial direction. A strong background in SaaS metrics and advanced Excel is essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in FP&A, corporate finance, or audit (Big 4 or similar).
• MBA, CPA, or similar credential preferred.
• Strong Excel, financial modeling, and scenario analysis; experience with BI tools, data analytics, SQL, FP&A platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plan with key modeling and insights.
• Build and evolve financial models and metrics for revenue, CAC/LTV, and unit economics.
• Lead monthly/quarterly reporting, variance analysis, and narrative for leadership.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align assumptions and stress-test plans.
• Streamline FP&A workflows and reporting infrastructure for scalability.

About the role

This is a rare opportunity to help build and define our FP&A/corporate finance practice. As Range’s Head of FP&A, you'll be the bridge between data and direction, empowering our company with clarity and confidence as we scale.

We're excited to hire this role at Range’s Headquarters in McLean, VA. All of our positions follow an in-office schedule Monday through Friday, allowing you to collaborate directly with your team. What you’ll do with us

• Partner with the VP of Finance to deliver the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range plan — owning key modeling, analysis, and insight responsibilities

• Build and evolve financial models and performance metrics to enable forecasting and insights across revenue growth, unit economics, customer behavior, pricing, and other core business drivers

• Execute monthly and quarterly financial reporting, variance analysis, KPI tracking, and narrative commentary for leadership and operations

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Planning, Product, Operations, and Engineering to gather assumptions, stress-test plans, and provide financial clarity

• Streamline and automate FP&A workflows, tools, and reporting infrastructure to improve efficiency and scalability

• Support fundraising, board materials, due diligence, and other strategic finance initiatives as needed

What will set you apart

• 7+ years of experience in FP&A, transaction advisory, corporate finance, or audit (Big 4 or similar)

• MBA, CPA, or similar credential preferred

• Strong technical capabilities — advanced Excel, financial modeling, and scenario analysis; experience with BI tools, data analytics, SQL, and FP&A platforms (Adaptive, Vena, Pigment, Datarails, etc.) is a plus

• Solid accounting fundamentals with a strong command of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics

• Ability to distill detailed financial models into clear business insights and executive narratives

• Strong ownership mindset — proactive, comfortable with ambiguity, and biased toward action

• Familiarity with SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, cohorts, CAC, LTV) and/or startup experience a plus

Compensation

Base salary range: $200,000 – $300,000

This is the base salary range we expect in good faith to pay for this role at the time of posting. Where an offer lands within the range depends on the scope and complexity of work the candidate can own independently and demonstrated depth at this level.

Other compensation and benefits

The range above reflects base salary only. Our offer packages also include equity in the form of stock options, so total compensation for this role will exceed the base salary range.
