Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a leader for the Financial Planning R&D Team to shape the future of advice across both advised and self-directed channels. You will build and guide a team of financial planning experts, partner with product, technology, and methodology teams, and drive the deployment of new planning capabilities to deliver enhanced client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of related professional experience, including at least 5 years in financial planning or wealth management.
• Experience developing, evaluating, or implementing financial planning methodologies, tools, capabilities, or solutions.
• Experience applying financial planning expertise to develop or enhance client advice solutions.
• Experience partnering with cross-functional teams (product, technology, business, methodology) to develop or implement planning solutions.
• Experience leading complex initiatives or programs with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience building, leading, coaching, or developing financial planning professionals.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Shape Vanguard’s financial planning offerings across advised and self-directed experiences.
• Lead evaluation and deployment of new planning capabilities and tools.
• Partner with product, technology, methodology, and business leaders to bring planning experiences to market.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver best-in-class planning capabilities.
• Oversee evolution of Vanguard’s financial planning tools to ensure strong client outcomes.
• Build and coach a high-performing team of financial planning experts, setting performance standards and compensation decisions.
