Job summary

Andrenam is seeking a Head of Finance to build and lead the finance function from the ground up in the maritime autonomy and defense sector. This founding role will set the financial strategy, establish systems and controls, and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team.

You will own day-to-day accounting, budgeting, forecasting, audits, fundraising support, cash management, and capital planning as the company scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
• 10–15+ years in finance or accounting with 3+ years in leadership, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.
• Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
• Lead preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow.
• Own end-to-end budgeting and forecasting, translating numbers into actionable leadership recommendations.
• Manage external auditors and year-end audits.
• Support fundraising and investor relations with financial models and due diligence materials.
• Oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity as growth accelerates.
• Build and improve financial systems, tools, and processes to scale.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and tax compliance with external advisors.

About this role

Andrenam is looking for a Head of Finance to build and lead our finance function from the ground up. This is a founding role: you\'ll set the financial strategy, stand up the systems and processes we don\'t have yet, and act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team as we grow in the maritime autonomy and defense industry.

You'll own everything from day-to-day accounting to long-term financial planning, and you'll be the person leadership turns to for the numbers behind every major decision.

In this role

• You will develop and implement our financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning, and advise senior leadership on the decisions that strategy should drive.


• You will lead the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP.


• You will own the budgeting and forecasting process end to end, translating the numbers into recommendations leadership can act on.


• You will manage our relationship with external auditors and ensure smooth year-end audits.


• You will support fundraising and investor relations, building the financial models, presentations, and due diligence materials investors need.


• You will oversee cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to keep operations and growth initiatives funded.


• You will build the capital management strategy that determines how we allocate resources as we scale.


• You will establish and continually improve our financial systems, tools, and processes so our infrastructure scales with the company.


• You will run day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close.


• You will oversee tax compliance across sales, payroll, and federal and state filings, coordinating with external tax advisors as needed.

What we\'re looking for

• Bachelor\'s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.


• 10-15+ years of experience in finance or accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership role, ideally at a startup or high-growth company.


• Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.


• Expertise in financial accounting, compliance, and reporting.

Nice to have

• MBA or CPA.


• Experience with fundraising, venture capital, and investor relations.


• A track record of building financial systems and processes from scratch.


• Experience in manufacturing, technology, or aerospace.


• Experience managing state, federal, and local tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and corporate income tax.


• Experience streamlining accounting processes or implementing new financial systems to improve efficiency and scalability.

Salary Range

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Andrenam\'s total compensation package.
