Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to direct the activities of the maintenance department and ensure the center remains well-maintained and compliant with applicable safety and building codes.

The role requires a combination of technical maintenance experience and supervisory capabilities, with responsibilities spanning grounds, utilities, scheduling, budgeting, and safety management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree from an appropriate technical/trade school and a minimum of 3 years of experience in building maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of building codes, rules/regulations regarding the operation of equipment and HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Compliance with OSHA and other safety requirements.
• Should have the ability to communicate effectively with residents, their families and other facility staff.
• One year of supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise the maintenance department to ensure the center is maintained in good repair and compliant with safety regulations.
• Direct and manage grounds maintenance to ensure an attractive and well-maintained environment.
• Schedule repair/maintenance of machines, tools and equipment to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain utility systems to provide heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air as required.
• Develop preventive maintenance programs and recommend measures to improve operations and equipment.
• Review new product plans; discuss equipment needs and modifications with design engineers; requisition tools, equipment and supplies as required.
• Prepare department budget and monitor expenditures.
• Oversee safety and prevention programs and participate in Safety Committee.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
