Job Description

This Head of ETF Transformation is a senior leadership role within Investment Services responsible for defining and executing the strategic transformation of the organization’s ETF servicing business, with primary responsibility for the design, build, implementation and ongoing evolution of a state-of-the-art ETF servicing platform. The role will bring together deep ETF and fund-services expertise with technology, workflow, data, automation and client-experience capabilities to create a highly scalable, controlled and differentiated operating environment. The leader will work across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance and Business Development to translate business requirements and market needs into the future-state ETF platform architecture and operating model. This individual will play a key role in determining how work should operate in the future, not simply automating existing processes, with an emphasis on straight-through processing, exception-based workflows, intelligent automation, transparency and an exceptional client experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategy, design and build of the next-generation ETF servicing platform, establishing the vision, capabilities, requirements and implementation roadmap for a modern, scalable ETF operating environment.
  • Serve as the business leader connecting ETF operations and technology, translating complex ETF servicing requirements into actionable platform capabilities, workflows and development priorities.
  • Design the future-state ETF operating model across the full servicing lifecycle, including fund launch/onboarding, fund accounting, administration, basket processing, creation/redemption activity, reconciliation, reporting and client servicing.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI, intelligent automation, workflow orchestration, predictive analytics and exception-based processing to reduce manual intervention and improve scalability, accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Partner closely with Technology and Product teams throughout the development lifecycle, including requirements definition, process design, prioritization, testing, implementation and ongoing platform enhancement.
  • Establish an integrated data and workflow strategy that improves visibility into operational activity, exceptions, controls, service levels and client interactions.
  • Help design a differentiated digital client experience, providing clients with greater transparency into activity, workflows, reporting, service requests and operational insights.
  • Drive standardization and simplification of ETF processes, challenging legacy practices and avoiding the replication of unnecessary manual processes in the new environment.
  • Partner with Business Development and relationship teams to support RFPs, client presentations, prospect discussions and demonstrations of the ETF platform and servicing model.
  • Maintain senior-level relationships with clients and use client feedback, market developments and competitive intelligence to influence platform priorities and product development.
  • Develop the business case and investment roadmap for transformation initiatives, including expected improvements in scalability, operational efficiency, controls, client experience and growth capacity.
  • Establish governance, milestones, success measures and executive reporting for major ETF transformation and platform-development initiatives.
  • Work closely with Risk, Compliance and other control functions to ensure appropriate controls and regulatory requirements are embedded directly into the platform and future-state operating model.
  • Partner with business leadership to support the profitability, growth and strategic direction of the ETF business and ensure technology investments align with business priorities.
  • Build organizational capabilities required for the future-state ETF model, including talent, processes, governance and new ways of working across business and technology teams.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of developments across the ETF ecosystem, asset-servicing technology landscape and evolving client requirements to ensure the platform remains competitive and forward-looking.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, accounting or other related field
  • 15 or more years of mutual fund experience
  • 10 or more years of management experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Strong leadership abilities and strategic management skills
  • Thorough knowledge of division and relation to industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Considerable tact, diplomacy and people skills
