Career Renew is recruiting for one of its clients a Head of Engineering - DeFi - this is a fully remote role, but candidates need to be based in Western Coast US to Eastern Europe.

We’re revolutionizing finance with a fractional-reserve stablecoin, unlocking levels of capital efficiency that have historically only been accessible to banks. Last year, we closed an oversubscribed pre-seed fundraise and are now seeking to grow our team. We’re on track to launch our MVP in Q2 of 2025. We aim to realize the visions of Satoshi and DeFi alike, making banks obsolete through fundamental improvements to capital efficiency. As part of our team, you’ll be joining our CEO in converting the existing functional requirements and architectural planning sessions into actionable function specifications, user stories, and ultimately code. You’ll work with our UX consultants to realize the design and form of our governance dApp. You’ll coordinate activities across our technical team, working to direct developer efforts, and work with our Analyst to fine-tune our tokenomics. You will align with our Program Manager to determine weekly workloads and work with him to track developer progress. If you are someone who is highly technically inclined, who has a flair for leadership, and who would be a founder themselves (or has been) but for your love of engineering, then you are a good fit for this role. Salary will be competitive and the opportunity for advancement is present.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Leadership to realize their vision. Daily communication will be expected.
  • Oversee both Architecture and Engineering development efforts and manage their resources on a day-to-day basis.
  • Within architecture, collaborate with existing stakeholders on technical architectural efforts (CEO, Lead Dev) to translate their vision into more granular components.
  • Within architecture, collaborate with existing stakeholders on tokenomics (CEO, Head of BD, Analyst) to fine-tune tokenomic design and associated go-to-market strategy.
  • Within architecture, collaborate with UX consultants to translate technical architecture into user stories.
  • Within Engineering, collaborate with our Lead Dev to manage and assign tasks across our development team. Keep development efforts on schedule and delegate tasks.
  • You will be expected to advise management on technical hiring decisions.
  • Coordinate on deadlines with Leadership and request additional resources when necessary to ensure that those deadlines are met.
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a well-known DeFi-related organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in a technical role and a minimum of 1 year in leadership.
  • Experience in building new products from scratch (not from forks).
  • Security-first mindset.
