Partiful is seeking a Head of Engineering to build and lead a high-performing engineering organization that can ship ambitious product and infra work with speed and accountability. You will own the health, output, and growth of the team, ensuring the right people are in the right roles and that recruiting, culture, and execution reinforce each other.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience with leadership of 15-40+ engineers
• Experience building and scaling an engineering org
• Track record of driving operational excellence in engineering
• Strong people leadership skills
• Comfort making hard people decisions with clarity and empathy
• Experience partnering with founder/CTO and product leaders on roadmap
• Strong recruiting instincts
• Clear and concise communication
• Energized by high-intensity, hands-on building

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing engineering organization that ships ambitious product and infra work quickly.
• Partner with the CTO on technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap prioritization.
• Collaborate with CEO & CTO to communicate vision and motivate the team.
• Own engineering execution with clear goals, scope, owner, and deadlines.
• Introduce lightweight ownership and accountability systems without overloading the team.
• Identify bottlenecks in workflows and simplify processes to focus on deep work and shipping.
• Develop leads and build a strong middle-management layer to scale from 15-40+ engineers.
• Define a clear career ladder and performance framework for engineers and managers.
• Foster a culture of ownership, recognition, and impact.
• Hold a high bar for performance and address underperformance directly.
• Own engineering recruiting end-to-end with CTO and People team.
• Codify and enforce engineering culture and standards (speed, craftsmanship, ownership).
• Strengthen cross-functional collaboration with Product, Design, and Ops.
• Establish and track metrics for velocity, quality, and recruiting pipeline health.
• Work in the trenches with the team; office 3 days a week, some late nights.
