Job summary

Aspiron Search Limited is representing a well-funded US cybersecurity firm seeking a Head of Engineering who will shape an AI-native engineering organization and guide what to build.

You will own delivery cadence, tooling decisions as models evolve, manage OpEx (Cloud, AI, Training) and influence hiring, with a strong emphasis on customer-focused product and hands-on cybersecurity leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience with leadership of 20+ engineers/senior staff.
• Strong background in implementing shifting to AI-native engineering with high output per engineer.
• Experience in VC-backed startups (Series A-C) with input on product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the speed and quality of delivery across the engineering organization.
• Make decisions on agentic tooling as models evolve and update.
• Manage OpEx budget (Cloud, AI, Training) and influence hiring within the team.
• Lead with a customer-centric mindset, aligning product decisions with customer needs and security considerations.

Job description

If you’ve already built an engineering organisation or been part of a major transformation where AI/agents do the building and engineers decide what’s worth shipping – I’d love to speak to you.

Aspiron Search is working with a well-funded, Series-C CyberSecurity firm within the US as they look for a Head of Engineering for their wider team to do exactly this.

The firm’s customers are security and engineering teams, meaning the person coming in should be obsessed with what their customers need as much as what their team ships, and happy owning product calls on build decisions too.

You’ll be accountable for how fast and well the organisation delivers, decide how the team works with agentic tooling as models consistently change and update, manage your OpEx budget (Cloud, AI, Training) and be a real influence when it comes to hiring within the team.

What you'll need:

• 8+ years of engineering experience, including leading teams of 20+ engineers / senior staff
• Solid background in implementing / shifting to AI-native engineering where output per engineer is 5X – 10X
• A VC-backed startups background (Series A-C), with genuine input on the product side of things
• A track record of hiring and developing a team
• Real, hands-on cybersecurity experience
