Job summary

Confluent is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head the Detection & Response organization within Infrastructure Security. You will define the strategic vision, technical roadmap, and operational execution for detecting, investigating, and responding to security threats across multi-cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

You will lead a distributed team across North America and India, applying modern software practices with a focus on automation and telemetry.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in software development, security engineering, or security operations.
• 5+ years in direct engineering or security management.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic vision and roadmap for Detection & Response across multi-cloud infrastructure.
• Build, scale, and mentor a distributed, global team across NA and India.
• Drive evolution of detection engineering and incident response capabilities with scalable automation.
• Oversee security incident response operations and act as Incident Commander during high-severity events.
• Establish and improve operational metrics to measure program maturity and effectiveness.
