Job summary

Energy Northwest seeks an Design Engineering Manager to oversee a diverse team of mechanical, civil, stress, electrical/I&C design engineers and drafters. The role requires directing design, budgeting, scheduling, staffing, and planning to support safe, reliable operation.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science, 10 years in engineering/maintenance/ops, at least 5 years at a nuclear plant, and 3+ years of management experience.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science and ten years of engineering, maintenance, or operations experience.
• Minimum of five years at an operating nuclear power plant; minimum of three years management experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage a department of design engineering supervisors, engineers, and designers/drafters.
• Hire direct and contract employees; determine personnel performance, ratings, promotions, and salary changes.
• Prepare budgets, schedules, long-range plans, and staffing; monitor to ensure department success.
• Provide engineering direction and technical counseling to staff and other organizations.
